Trauma sucks. Therapy doesn’t have to.
Trauma and Faith Transition therapy in Utah and Florida.
Tired of endlessly talking about your trauma with minimal progress?
If you feel like you’ve been talking about your trauma or deepest pain over and over again, and it isn’t getting you anywhere…
If you feel like you’ve been treading water with your mental health and you need to try something different…
If you dread the thought of re-hashing all the details with someone new, AGAIN…
If you’ve been putting yourself and your healing on the back burner, and you’re ready to dive in…
Then I might just be your girl.
I’m here to help you release and heal from the trauma and pain you don’t want to carry anymore. It’s time to let it go, and I am dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.
Hi, I’m Sarah. I love earrings and I swear a lot.
I honor your story and strive to create a nurturing, authentic, affirming, and safe environment that lets you take that mask off, be your true self, and step into the work of releasing trauma.
You may have felt like talking can only get you so far. And while talking has its own place and power (because words matter), sometimes it’s just not enough.
It’s easy to stay in your head and focus on information. And I do a lot of psychoeducation (education about mental health topics), because information is empowering.
But when you restrict yourself to simply collecting information about healing, you can miss out on all the connection and real healing that happens when you apply that knowledge. That’s why I support you in learning and then applying the knowledge in practices that help you:
strengthen you capacity to hold yourself with compassion and safety
learn how to recognize, honor, and express your needs in healthy ways
build a foundation of healthy skills and behaviors that will support deep work and make your daily life better
and bring your whole self into the process
I do a lot of practical application work, meaning that we don’t just talk about things in theory, we actually do the thing during the session, or I give you homework for implementation in your daily life and for practice between sessions.
Things we might work on, depending on your goals and needs:
Learning how to work with your brain and body to help you rebuild (or build for the first time) a sense of safety and connection within yourself, with others, and with the world around you
Processing and releasing trauma, beliefs, behaviors, and fears that your mind and body have been longing to let go of, but haven’t quite been able to
Learning and consistently implementing simple, but meaningful, practices to help you feel more prepared to deal with the emotions and stresses of everyday life
Identifying thought and behavior patterns that aren’t working for you, and practical-application strategies for changing them
Connecting to your authentic self and your most important values, to see where you’ve been spinning your wheels on things that really aren’t contributing anything meaningful or joyful to your life
Establishing a wide variety of healthy skills and practices for navigating daily life, and the variety of emotions and experiences that naturally come with it
Please note: If you are actively suicidal or homicidal, my services are not be the best fit. I am happy to provide referrals. If you are actively in crisis or believe you are a danger to yourself or someone else, please go to the nearest Emergency Department, go to a mental health intake center, call 9-8-8, or call 9-1-1.
